Hello,

I plan to re-work on the sailfish platform, so, I will purchase my future development platform. I think to buy a Xperia Xz, so, how can I be sure that this device will be supported ?

It is on the Sony Open Devices list, but Sailfish (with dalvik) will be only on Xperia X this year, or Xz (and some other) will be also supported (or plan to be; I'm system developer, and I can help to port it, with cbeta program for example, but I need to know quickly (before June) if I can buy this phone or not...

Thanks to clarify this point...

We can't tell this is a duplicate question since on the jolla-sony-xperia-qa, there is no information about devices supported !!! Please don't close all thread of all peaple who have question about jolla + sony, you don't have all possible questions on your thread, and you can ask to the post owner before closing the thread.

Well, the Sony Xperia QA thread contains all the information which are currently available. I'm sure, lots of people here want to know more about Sailfish on the Sony devices, but Jolla has not published any more information yet. However, they mentioned in their blog post recently that they will publish more information in the next week. So we all have to be patient.

Just a thought: if you need a development device for SailfishOS apps, why do you need the android-enhanced variant? Fairphone 2, for example, supports SFOS beautifully. There are plenty community ports available already; it's exactly the same SailfishOS in them.

Well, in some answers it was implictly assured, that the device would be the F5121. Now, in the updated version of the blog post comprising the FAQ it is stated that "F5121 single SIM version is the model we are developing on. It should be noted that there is a possibility of details being changed until we announce the commercial details, therefore our advice would be to wait for the announcement before buying the device, just to be completely sure." COME ON GUYS, really??? It's not that complicated to give a clear answer instead of saying "A", then "B", then "100% C" and finally going back to "A". Sometimes it feels like we are being permanently mocked. It is not complicated to have a decent public relations policy....................

Yes, ok, it sounds a little like a plan that can change. But the change is not planed at the moment.

You have to be already invited to the closed beta testing group, and if you were, you would know it. The testers are under NDA, so we can expect a bit of silence at this point...
