Looking for a Jolla 1 [not relevant]
In short: I am looking for someone willing to sell his/her Jolla 1. As I'm a big fan/user of the TOHKBD another phone is hardly an option. Anyone willing to make me a reasonable offer?
The whole story: After a weeks of problems with charging my current Jolla 1, this morning it appears to have given up completely. Although it may just be the battery, I suspect that that may have died from the charging problems as I think the usb connector is worn out. Replacing the battery may save me for a short while but I think it's game over for this one. To bad! As said, I rely on my TOHKBD for daily usage, and beside that, I use the phone for tracking my daily cycling commuting between Utrecht and Amsterdam in the Netherlands. This means I detach/attach different TOHs at least twice a day and the phone is heavily used (riding a velomibile (nicely decorated with 2 Jolla stickers) during the winter time, means it has to operate in hash (moist) circumstances). And it did this very well for the last 2 years. So, who is able to help this keyboard addicted, Sailfish lover (yes, I know that somehow still is a contradiction in terms :) ) ???
Any help, ideas, etc. are appreciated as well.
Regards,
Paul
hi, Paul I recently bought a aqua fish which I do not really like, but then I don't need two phones... My Jolla 1 is oan of the last available, has a spare battery, charger, pink, green, white TOH's and no scratches on screen. Plus a white Mapragbag or whatever that slip bag is named, handmade from paperlike stuff. I don't need a keyboard, and I ride a Rotovelo with no stickers on. How about 100.- plus postage from Switzerland?
danfin ( 2017-03-17 14:23:55 +0200 )edit@Paul Tap, if all you're looking for is a phone with a hardware keyboard which runs Sailfish, you can also look for a Motorola Droid 4, it has more or less the same specifications as the Jolla 1: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=99031
Alternatively, a Sony Xperia Mini Pro (it's a really small phone): https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Adaptations/libhybris/Install_SailfishOS_for_2011_Xperias
nthn ( 2017-03-17 14:46:05 +0200 )edit@Paul Tap I could part with my fully functional Jolla 1 with white TOH. It has the typical worn upper edge and yellow stain on the left side of the screen, but no scratches on the screen. It is boxed and would otherwise come without any extras (no charger, USB-cable sticker etc.). I would ask for 70 EUR plus shipping from Germany. Maybe it is a good backup to be mounted on your bicycle.
AkiBerlin ( 2017-03-17 14:58:48 +0200 )edit@AkiBerlin, thanks for your offer. Looking at danfin's offer I prefer his as the state of your phone is not as new as would love to see it. Absolutely no pun intended. Mine (the one that died) was in no new state neither. Same worn top etc. Yet, if I'm to spend some money, I rather have one 'a bit more "as new"'.
Paul Tap ( 2017-03-17 21:24:49 +0200 )editoh by the way, @nthn, due to the fact that I also have a Solar TOH and use the android stuff etc. I really prefer an official Sailfish device. Hopefully more and more will come from many manufacturers, in many form factors. For now, Jolla 1 it is though.
