Clear browser cache not working [answered]

I just figured out that my ~/.mozilla/ dir is taking >500MB, which is way too much for a 16GB btrfs filesystem.
So i naturally went to the browser settings to clear the cache, only to figure out that it doesn't work, the directory size is still the same. The directories that take all the space are (on my Jolla1):
.mozilla/mozembed/cache2: 375MB and more than 15000 files
.mozilla/mozembed/OfflineCache: 110MB and more that 5000 files
A proper clear cache function is needed on our poors J1! :)
