[Feature-request] Mediaplayer should remember position for long files [duplicate]

I listen to over two hour podcasts, but usually not at once. Mediaplayer is closed in between listens. When I start listening again it is hard to find the last position because Mediaplayer does not store it. I think when file is over 30 minutes (?), mediaplayer should remember approximate position (maybe the last minute listened to)and start from that position. When it reaches last minute of the file, next time it should start from beginning. Jolla 1 and Iijoki. Thank you!

The Jolla media player sucks - the only reason to even have it installed is if you have a Jolla C / Intex and care about the FM radio functionality. QuasarMX is IMO by far the best media player, and it also does remember positions since a few versions back.

This has been suggested before, actually more than once.

There are several alternatives to the jolla player that have this feature, you should try one of them. Unplayer recently added this feature, for example (it's in the jolla store). There are others, for example my audiobook player ("Talefish") does, as well, but it's only on openrepos and, frankly, isn't as good for a lot of use cases. ;)

edit: those players don't differenciate between long and short files, but might fit your use case, nonetheless.

Also, cool feature would be automated playlists, like, recently added, recently played, most played.And sort tracks by artist, title, added and other criteria.

Again, QuasarMX already has all that and more... If you prefer to wait for those options to be added to the Jolla player you can wait forever.
