Hello,

with the risk of a duplicate (didn't found exactly one).
I would like to request 2 simple functionalities which should be mandatory on each alarm clock.
Like this thread handles, it requests an option to only de/activate the sound of alarm clock.
As an answer i put the separately suggestion to de/activate sound AND vibration separately (that was not really smart).

These needed options would make the life with other people in common something easier.
What is an alarm software if we could not use it, because it is too loud?
That should adapt itself on the user need. right or wrong?

Today i've made the annoying experience to wake up all the peoples nearby me, because i wasn't able to stop the alarm quickly, because of an other bug.
Could have been a smaller impact if i had only the vibrations. :-(

Please, the experience with it need to be improved. Actually is just annoying.

Before your request will become implemented: How about to try to obtain the same result as you requested by turning the sound off when going to sleep?

If you mean lowering the main volume to zero or setting the 'silent' ambience, then it makes no difference, the alarm still sounds at its given volume. Try it yourself, you'll see :) Furthermore, the alarm will still sound at full volume even if the device is switched off, so lowering master volume is of no help at all.

You could try this application for now. It didn't work for me last time I tried it, but then, I am always fiddling with my device! Edit - I've just tried it and it does indeed lower the volume, but of course, vibration is still there, maybe the author could include vibration on/off.

@fmotl thank you very much for your intervention. i'll give 1st a look on the slava clock-setting for the transition.
I'll keep ths thread open until an in-release solution comes.

Still before it will be implemented: how about to record a more silent alarm sound and set it as alarm sound in phone? Some experiments with recording a sound source from a distance can help e.g. other alarm of clock or mobile, from 1m distance, from 2m distance, etc.. Your alarm still will sound with full volume, but with more silent sound in recorded file, set as alarm sound, the final effect can be more silent sound. As requested. ;-)

The simplest provisional solution is sometimes the most durable of all the accomplishments of engineering/tinkering art. Please do not repeat this to anyone.

in this way i could directly try a sound of silence... but i'm not sure that is an engineering art, it's still a tinkering stuff. engineering art is more what the slava did with his clock-settings fix.
Please don't take it wrong i just 'm just teasing, if find great that you interest on the theme. I give a look into the slava solution, otherwise i keep the silent sound with silence ambiance in mind. idea is not bad

The tools required to basically meet your requirements are on the device, they're just not in one place, sadly.

Vibration can be changed with a choice of 4 settings in Settings/Sounds and feedback/Vibration

Silencing an alarm; can be created with combination of Vibration settings and Ambience tone settings.

Go to Settings/Ambiences;

Tap on any Ambience, (make a new ambience for the occasion?)
Scroll to bottom and tap Add actions,
Tap Clock, tap No sound, tap/swipe Accept....

Et voila!, no sound from the alarm in that ambience - name it Silent Alarm for example. Now you have an ambience to deal with 'Alarme silencieuse' and with Vibration set to Always and No sound from the alarm, you're quieter than a church mouse!, well, almost.

It would be good to see these options/settings all combined into one place. This is more likely to be done by 3rd party devs rather than Jolla.

damned !!! i believe now that's was a philosophy question indeed. i didn't get how the concept was really meant. Thank you very much for it. that's easy, and was a little bind...

@fmotl in this aspect i would request to have the vibration adjustment into each ambiances like it is done for the sound. that should be the same logic i think
