Hi there,

since the last two updates new pics shot by the camera are at the end of the galery. It's very annoying coz for every single slection, either in the gallery itself or in other apps, I always have to scroll down. does anyone have the same problem or a solution? or is it a part of the update so that we can find more of our old snapshots? ;)

edit 02.08.: also all newly captured pics rotate from portrait to landscape after open them...

edit 04.10. after updating sfos to 2.1.2.3 the problem still exists. running tracker brought no solution as well. pics are still at the end of the list with a wrong orientation

Yep got the same problem, plus loads of random empty pictures.

Same, plus the portrait photos are rotated landsape for me. This new UI didn't bring any new feature but added two really annoying issues :(

I'm on Jolla 1, I guess no sailor has encountered this :/

On inoir R7 pictures are in the begin.

Looks like it may be trouble with tracker --- I had similar issue, too.

If the trick in @Edz's comment did not work, check if tracker-extract is running (with ps aux | grep tracker), and if the answer is no then try the solution in my answer here: https://together.jolla.com/question/167715/tracker-not-tracking-properly/?sort=votes&page=1#167716

@h.berd Yup, there's one missing -- tracker-extract. Looks like that is the issue, then. There was a missing space in my answer; try again with -v 3 rather than -v3.

Unfortunately 2.1.2.3 does not contain any fix for this issue. We are working on it. Thanks for your feedback and comments. Sorry that it takes so long to get it fixed.

An update for the gallery or whatever the problem is, would be great! For me the wrong rotation is worse, but both bugs are clearly update related and seem to rely in one source.

edit 29.09: still no fix from jolla. why should I buy sailfish x for a better camera, if I have to rotate every picture? these bugs caused by the last update. Would love to have a fix to use my camera again... pls show some responsibility jolla!

I had the same problem on Jolla C (Jolla 1 always worked fine) until yesterday: suddenly the pictures show up on top again!!! Miracle happen.

I've seen that screenshots are also at the end of the gallery, when I look at the meta data they have the year 1970 which explains why they are at the end of the gallery.

After some time they are given the right date and they are where they belong, with the right year.... Maybe it has something to do with this issue.

Also, have you send a bug report to Jolla Zendesk, this is not the place for bug reports?

I think Jolla said that they didn't manage to reproduce the issue, so we shouldn't have it on Sailfish X. By the way, no need to rotate the pictures, they are correctly rotated if you look at them on a PC, it's just the gallery that mess it up apparently.

I don't own a JollaC, I wondered if anyone has tried running tracker?.

Might be worth a try but don't use Sailfish Utilities because it yields an error, at least on my Jolla1, so best done using terminal.

Three options for tracker;

-r, --hard Kill all Tracker processes and remove all databases (tracker reset -r)

-e, --soft Same as --hard but the backup & journal are restored after restart (tracker reset -e)

-c, --config Remove all configuration files so they are re-generated on next start (tracker reset -c)
