why you ruined old api for Sailfish maps running in Sailfish 1.9? it can't find any route now!

if something has changed in new version of maps you should make new api for that, not just adjust actual one that can't be parsed by older versions of maps!!

customers with older revisions are still your customers, you should not ignore them.

i dont like this way of forcing to update software as we know from apple,microsoft... it is not nice from you Jolla team! on the other side, it is good that you didn't promise Life-time maps like Nokia did on many phones, but still... not nice to shutdown service what is in use.

almost nobody arround me updated to Sailfish 2 (applodroid update) we just like to have clean phone what works until own HW failure.

If the API changed and can no longer be used on a phone with the Sailfish 1.x Maps app, then most likely the data provider changed the API, not Jolla. Usually, on API changes, the old API still works for some grace period, e.g. half a year. Users then have time to update the affected app, if possible. I guess a Maps app compatible with the new API is only available for Sailfish 2.x. While it is of course possible to package an updated Maps app compatible with Sailfish 1.x, I'm afraid noone at Jolla has the time to do this.

I'd assume it might partly have to do with Here changing ownership a few years back? Eg. like you said, the old Nokia API servers have finally been taken down, and thus any program that hasn't been updated to use the new provider ones will eventually stop working.

these temporaly apps are way to hell. it is never ending loop how to keep customers updating = purchasing new devices...I preffer product as is with bugfixes. Actual habbit is to totaly change of purchased product just by updates.
