Great, that Sailfish is soon available for Xperia X.

This said, I'm longing for a compact model:

Please <3 dear Jolla ....

Could you people please just chill for a while?

Everhthing points to that if the project is successful, more Xperia devices will follow. It even says so in the press release, it is support for the open device program that is being done, and xperia x is just the first one. The whole reason for choosing sony is their good support for other OSes enabled by good practices of mainlining and unifying patces and adaptations.

Jolla does something awesome and the forum fills up with people complaining :(

I don't see why expressing the wish for XZ1 Compact would be "complaining". They have almost released SFOS for the first Xperia device, so asking for support for a smaller phone model is merely a suggestion for Jolla where to look next.

who is it exactly that wants little phones and why? I don't get it, the J1's too small IMO and i can't wait for a 5'' phone, I've got big sausage fingers and staring at a farting little screen is getting tedious with my eyes at my age! I wouldn't buy anything under 5'' ever again, I can operate a 5'' phone with one hand no problem cos my hands are like spades, and lets face it, watching any kind of video on a poxy little screen is just dumb, that's what laptops and tv's are for!

@davekelly, people without hands like spades? I like the size of the N9 better than the J1. A 4.5" screen would be fine.

Hi @attah: not complaining at all, X has e.g. the advantage of a very attractive price point and the form factor is more mainstream than the compact one.

It's just my personal preference to carry a compact device (being used to palm pre, lumia 800 and jolla1). I'm aware that Jolla is a small company, their focus is on B2B, B2G and I might have to wait - but so be it...

Also a kind reminder that newer hardware often means more, extended support, and improved batteries. XZ1 Compact seems to have a combination of components and battery size that allows for high endurance: 108h, it shows up among the first devices from GSM arena's list: https://www.gsmarena.com/battery-test.php3

Now imagine this with SFOS.

It is an older model, but for me, getting it second hand would be ideal.

I have not found any community project to port it. Is anyone aware of one? I'd like to contribute or at least, get people interested to start something together.
