Jolla 1 looses mobile connection after short periods of inactivity. Suffices just hours. This has been happening since OS was updated to 2.1.1.26. The device has to be rebooted permanently.

Something very similar happened to me yesterday. Bad signal strength and no signal combination caused deactivation of mobile connection. After switch airplane mode on and off, mobile connection started working again for few minutes.

Same here, I saw this problem starting from version 2.1.1.23, I was hoping for a fix during the early access but nothing, the issue persist. I have to reboot the phone twice a day at least, very annoing.

I have the same problem on my Jolla C. When I start an app which uses 3G or 4G the device has to be rebooted permanently.

Thank you very much for your advice, DrYak. But I was asking for a solution, not an advice on how to easily restart the device. Let me tell you that I am afraid that we are missing the point. This is a disfunction in the OS, and its UP TO JOLLA to solve it. Voluntarism is great. But Jolla is a company and, at bottom, we are also costumers.

On the other hand, if the problem comes from a weird interraction between the modem's firmware and cell towers/SIM cards, it's not in Jolla's (legal) power to change anything.

(Except to complain to the chip manufacturer until they give them an improved modem firmware)

A faster solution than rebooting the whole phone is just restarting the service :

systemctl restart ofono.service

(as root)

Or just use the Utilities app from Jolla Store. :)

Interesting. My Jolla 1 has worked extremely well when I had to share it's mobile connection for my laptop. Whole workday (except for lunch hour) and my Jolla 1 worked as an access point.

When the signal strength is bad, it might lose network connection. Then I just either wait it to recover, or in a hurry enable airplane mode and deactivate it right after activation.

@Lupin: Modem functionality might be affected by the executable bits sent from the Cell tower, and by the SIM card. So depending on where you live and what is your service provider, your results might vary.

Seems that in your case you're more lucky than us.

(Also means that Jolla did indeed test the new OS and just happen not to have seen any problems, probably because of different cell towers and SIM cards)

You are right. I live in Finland and my operator is Elisa, just in case you can utilize that information somehow. If cell towers are indeed the problem, it means this might not be so easily fixed. I suggest you list then your operator and where you are experiencing the problem. Might be that Jolla is able to enlist help from some local (from your viewpoint) worker/community developer to trace this problem.
