Same here. I'm on board since first day, own already 4 Jolla devices, but thinking about to leave now. Try a credit card from a friend, but fail with "this cc card is not verified by visa" They starts to get arrogant....

in most europian banks you can use debit card to pay for it. you have to activate internet payments and then use your debit card as credit one.

I have to say paypal sucks and i would recommend any company not to do business with them. Bank tramsfers on the other hand or electronic checks should be made an option.

I'd like to use Bitcoin (maybe via Bitpay or coinbase or something like that). I just used my Visa Card, but it was terrible (thanks to vertified by visa - i cannot use it anymore).

I just opened a ticket agains Jolla Support to disable the 3D verification method in the VISA payment. Hopefully they will follow up quickly.

The thing is that most online payment services do enable this feature by default and someone should just add disable to the configuration/transaction method.

Unfortunately I do not own any other credit card or any other type of online payment except VISA.

I got it, some other friend did the purchase for me.

I think they even will not be able to disable 3d secure, because it is a foreign hosted payment page...I have long time experience with online payment providers and systems, and the credit card issuers...they just make together suicide since a few years, the reason why paypal gets so big. @DarkTuring cc companies even sucks more and this idiots clear this market for pp.

So you think there is conspiracy behind this in favor of paypal? I am not quite sure - perhaps most people have the 3D secure (as your friend does). If they do not disable it, I will ask my sister - she has this stupid thing too. My bank told me I have to register and it will take at least one week to get the mail with the papers.

One thing I agree with you - idiots. When I implemented online payment system, I tested it and disabled this feature.

Not a 'real' solution, but maybe this is useful for someone in the same situation as me (ie not having a credit card).

I now also managed to purchase the image. I used a virtual prepaid card service (https://pay2d.nl/en/), the payment was settled within 10 minutes. I don't know if this works outside of the Netherlands, but perhaps there are other similar services.

Hopefully I get around flashing soon. I can hardly wait to see what Sailfish is like :)
