With SFOS X running on the Xperia X, lets start a wiki with accessories for the device. Feel free to add any experience you made.

Screen Protectors

upscreen spy shield clear: To small to cover the whole front, great as privacy filter (see answer by ghling for more details)

Mumbi protective sheet, to small, too.

Tempered glass screen protector 3D curved: it covers fully the screen.

Cases

CNC aluminium casing, fits like a charme, but you have to like the color

Silicone gel case

Jolla's Finnish neighbours Lastu. Rubberised cases with wooden back covers and many customisation possibilities.

Aluminium Case: Great fit and detailed modeled, makes the phone bigger / bulkier (find full review with pictures in the answer by ghling below)

Flip-Cases

BEZ® leather flipcase (more convenient, less protective)

Terrapin leather flipcase (more protective, less convenient)

Bags

Mapbagrag bags

fitBAG: I loved the one given with our White N9, it's almost the same :)

Keyboards

Rii bluetooth mini qwerty keyboard (French azerty version verified OK with SailfishX)

Specific question 29.10.2017: Is there experience of rounded edge screen protectors together with flip cases, for example PanzerGlass with Wave BookCase ? Do they overlap or can they be used together?

Indeed, I have shorten the links and removed the unnecessary additions. People, this is supposed to be a place to share your experience with your Xperia X accessories (e.g. "it fits / doesn't fit", "it works / doesn't work",...), not to make little bucks (if any) on behalf of other peoples privacy. Please remove any parameters not needed to visit the item (for Amazon, that would be anything after the 10 char item code) or refrain from posting links at all. Thanks.

Tried the crystal silicon case and dumped it. The light was reflecting the flash when taking pictures in a dark environment. Not sure if that's the case with all of them though

Nice flip case from Sony is the Smart Flip case. It is transparent and you can even opereate the phone with cover closed.

Also display turns on / off then closing /opening the case.

Using this case. Its fine, but operate the phone through the closed cover is nearly impossible. Anything else is ok.

Well, probably you cannot fully operate it, but you can answer or reject incoming calls without opening the case - good enough for me.

For other tasks it works but not good - you have to use more pressure to get it working.

Here are couple of accessories I have bought. Links are to Finnish web shops, sorry for that.

PanzerGlass screen protector. Easy to install and seems to work fine. Even the edge swipes are OK.

Sony Style Case. I guess this is similar or same as linked earlier.

Sandstrom Bluetooth mini-keyboard. Seems to work fine and has quite good keys. I still need to figure out if some keys can be re-mapped.

About the PanzerGlass screen protector: is it possible to use together with a flip case, e.g. https://www.verkkokauppa.com/fi/product/20500/hbkfr/Wave-BookCase-suojakotelo-Sony-Xperia-X-musta, or would the two accessories overlap each other?

I ordered a privacy screen protector ("upscreen spy shield clear") for my Xperia X. Unfortunately, the protector does not cover the whole screen (there is a gap of about 3 - 4 mm on every side between protector and edge of the phone) and it's even to small to cover the whole display area, leaving around 1 mm on the left and right. Unfortunately this means you have to swipe across the edge of the protector for the "home screen" gesture, which is uncomfortable and making it a bit unreliable. The vendor of the protector told me that this was due to the curved display which does not allow to cover the whole front of the device, which is quite unsatisfactory. Did anyone found a better screen protector for the whole front?

Anyway, curved edges are not optimal for swipe gesture.

I use the 3M privacy screen protector and it has the same size. I used one with my Nokia N9 that covered the whole screen, but with similar round corners I experienced the problem that the screen protector pealed off on the edges... So I think there is no real better solution...

Yeah, that's real unfortunate. I was hoping to find a good screen protection for the whole front since I'm not a fan of flip-covers (at least I never used one previously and don't plan to). The best solution would probably be a "small" screen protector and a soft case, but I'm not sure how this works with gestures.

I have now purchased an aluminium case from ebay, though I can't pick it up for the next 1,5 weeks. I'll post my impressions when I get it.

Does someone know a Flippcase with Qi integrated, which connects to the micro USB port?

I still owe you my experiences with the aluminium case (Ebay Link):

Pro:

  • solid aluminium frame, plastic cover to protect the back
  • "extensions" for the buttons on the side (volume and camera buttons)
  • prevents accidental presses of power button since it located inside a small "hole"
  • modeled in great details, everything fits perfect

Neutral:

  • makes the phone even bigger / bulkier

Con:

  • "Hidden" power button needs to get used to
  • Phone rattles a bit inside the case (can most likely be solved with some additional spacers)
  • Makes ports inaccessible for bigger plugs (the original usb cable fits, but others do not. Also, bigger head phone plugs do not fit)

Due to the cons, I decided to abandon this case and ordered a Nillkin Frosted Shield one (will post here once I get it). Nevertheless, it's quite a good case if you can live with the shortcomings (or if you don't experience them).

Now some pictures (please note that I still have the upscreen spy shield screen protector on my phone, and yes it already has a scratch since it is not that scratch-proof): Front Right side Left side Back Front turned on
