I'd really like to install Sailfish X but I won't if FM radio is not working.

I am using a Symbian phone and this is the only feature (plus a handful of bug fixes) that I am waiting for before moving to Sailfish. I am not going to "downgrade".

There's a chance but its a bit tricky.

The Xperia X has a broadcom combination WIFI+BT+FM chip, and so the driver for it needs to balance these three things and expose them to the operating system.

Since BT is still a bit shaky I would imagine that getting that working properly is the priority, but after that maybe they will try and get the FM Radio working

They mentioned the fm radio in the blog from August: "The features that are not supported in the first release are: Bluetooth, new sensors (e.g. barometer, step counter), fingerprint, and FM-radio."

@NuklearFart jolla-mediaplayer does radio, so does piratefm on openrepos

But they only do IRIS and Xperia X FM radio isn't IRIS

The FM radio is a very important part of an in-car infotainment system. ...so I expect it to be working soon.

I think that normally if it's in the specification of the product, the hardware should have the interface for it, and the Software follow to finish it.
It's in spec, hardware is present, jolla should at last make it functional.
Then when it comes, that is the matter of jolla, but i think that must not be strictly done by the 1st release.
But should appears in a kind of roadmap, or to-do list, or i don't know waht else management process.
If not, then that is a problem for jolla... not implement it or not plan to implement it, is a no-go....

Well they did not make it when they were Nokia, why would you think they will handle this with priority now? Indeed it is a really good nice to have, but IMO bluetooth is more important
