hello,

I unlocked the bootloader, though sony's instructions, which means, I now have a 'sony 's way' bootloader unlocked phone. I tried to flash the sailfish os anyway, getting a brick in return. I tried to unlock the bootloader once again, this time following sailfish commands, but the process was not satisfactory, as it stated, there was no need for this process again. Is there any way to revert this situation? and eventually enjoy Sailfish X on my xperia? Many thanks

Not clear but presumably using Windows OS? Is device recognised by Sony's Emma which would confirm device bootloader unlock? What firmware version was on device prior to flashing SailfishX image?

using win7, Emma does not recognize the device, latest android version 7.1.1, cant remember the exact serial firmware, 34.A.0.664 something like that. thanks

If Emma doesn't work, you can still try to use Flashtool

For the Sailfish installation to work, you need to have a firmware 34.3.A.0.228 or .238 (That firmware changes the partitions a bit).

Emma is working, I downloaded and installed software version to .228, and the whole process, went nice and smooth, but the phone does not work properly eventually, yet It does boot up. Anyway, I reflashed the sailfish software, but I get a brick in result. When unlocking the bootloader, I did it following sony s manual, which means I missed step 4.2 of jolla instructions, and that could be the fatal mistake. I am stuck and do not know how to proceed, or what els to do. Any idea?

As you can't currently use SailfishX what about using facility in Flashtool by Androxyde to lock bootloader, flash stock Android and see if you can start again? Presumably you never saved DRM keys?

I relocked the bootloader using flashtool, unlocked afterwards, following sailfish instructions, and eventually tried to reflash sailfish again, but, the output was: 'system can't find the specified driver' MD5SUM '77ddc7a0b9dd95db593829b97bc9868a match for hybris-boot.img. Any idea?

Hi ray,

if the device is off and you press the Vol+up key and connect the usb cable (still pressing the Vol+Up key). Does the LED light blue? If yes, then your device is not dead! But the relocking was no good idea.

The problem is, that the oem partition ist not writable. Your firmware (android version) you started with, was too low (lower 34.3.A.0.228).

But if you have the blue LED it should be possible to flash, if you do the steps of option 2 from this windows guide.

Hello jolladiho

Never said it was dead, I think I am able to make it run android properly, (sailfish is another thing), and eventually sell the phone. Stick to my BB10 Passport (for work) and my jolla C (weekend), and forget about this.
