Even a negative vote was given! :-D Obviously my post was badly interpreted: I was one of "The First one", I own Intex Aqua Fish and Jolla C. I also bought Sony Xperia X. So I completely agree with @gr8abbasi: we hope the best for Jolla / Sailfish! :-) I just wanted to know if there are any indications on how Sailfish X is selling and if there are real prospects for the Sony dual sim (since I need a dual sim phone), that's all. :-)

Don't bother about negative votes. Apparently someone systematically down-votes every single post here. I also have a Jolla One since three years still in perfect condition, and a 'sailfished' Xperia X since last month. Both are great, mainly thanks to an ecosystem that has no hidden 'features' designed to ensnare the user or to limit her/his freedom of choice. However, the downside is a lack of sleek finish, some nuts and bolts are still apparent (or even missing). I think that's an acceptable price for a unique safe haven in this ocean of digital prisons.

Yes @Jozz thank you! :-) This particular had escaped me, I apologize. :-P Although the full functionality of some Android apps, there is not and, given the lack of software houses, in making and / or develop Sailfish app, I would say that Android support is important, no?

@juiceme Why not? From the app of the gas station (with all due respect!) To those of work, are written for Android or iOS. Nobody, for now, has written them / writes them to Sailfish. And the unofficial ones that are there, even with all the hard work of those who have worked on it, do not make 100% of those that are there. Android support works, but at 70/80%, according to my use. We also consider that (by now) many (too many?) Apps to work well, need Google Play Services ... I do not say I agree, but it is a reality that Jolla / Sailfish must take into consideration.

I have used Mitakuuluu and WhatsUp, but since that is not supported anymore I use the Android app. I also use an Android app for my bank. I prefer not to use Google Play Services. Until now that that seems to work out OK.

@Jozz I admire you and I envy you, sincerely: you can not use the Android app! :-) I can not, also because to save two or three quid at the end of the month, you have to use the Android apps of your telephone operator or your trusted supermarket. And they often crash, because Android Support is not perfect, unfortunately ... On the Google Play Servces speech I do not know what to say: to do before, many (many?) Programmers and / or svluppatori of the app, in fact, dependent on Google Play Services ... you understand that it becomes complicated not to have them installed ...

Still feels like a work in progress. OS freezes intermittently, iOS has full encryption, Sailfish does not, iOS has full VPN support, Sailfish does not, the experience is slightly disjointed between Android and Sailfish App Notifications, Share Options, and Permissions are a total mess. Saving a Screenshot for example cannot be viewed jn Android Apps due to insufficient read permissions, then Android App image editing apps cannot save edited images in the nemo folder due to permission issues. So image and document sharing between Android Alien Dalvik and Sailfish is definately BROKEN.

I'm glad, that the work is still in progress.
I'm very happy, that the roadmap cares about the long waiting email app functions. Hopefully email are readable after that.

Sailfish is not bad and compared to the capital, maybe much better then others. Does iOS have full encryption for me, or against me?

Sailfish x freezes sometimes? I'm using Xperia X single sim daily since october and only one time I succes to crash whole sailfish. And I know what causes that crash; I was formated my sdcard to F2FS filesytem in linux pc and somehow my phone can't see any files what I added to that card. When I tried to create folder (in settings>storage) sailfish crashed.
That was very weird... I suspect compatibility problem because my pc contains newest F2FS tools. So sailfish F2FS tools are much older revision.
In my aspect, android support isn't important to keep it update. Jolla get more time to focus other things then. If you need so many apps why not just move back to android? I only need whatsapp, speedtest and protonmail apps. Native apps are fantastic that I even planning to make own app ;)
Let's see about one year more with sailfish if all important things are in good shape and then It will beat android and ios (for me at least).
Jk ( 2018-02-05 23:47:53 +0300 )editThe system needs to be unstable first of all, because there are many bugs and many problems, although today it is possible to be usable. Alien Dalvik needs to be updated urgently because it is a major cause of battery loss, bugged and slow apps.
Native applications need to be upgraded and supported, need to come developers willing to create something for years. Havent a DROPBOX application the SailfishX has native :(

I do not go back, I do not even step to Android (in fact I've never used an Android phone as a main;)) because, for what I saw and experienced, Sailfish works and would work much better. As I said at the beginning of the thread, I want / would like to continue using a cellphone with Sailfish, but ... precisely: either begin to be native Sailfish app, or implement / improve Android support or ... let's go around with two phones. ;-) I repeat: I envy and admire those who do not need Android. :-)
