Camera: option to record images as RAW
As a keen amateur photographer, I'd love to have the option to write images captured with the (rear) camera as RAW output. Providing that Jolla discloses the information needed to create the appropriate camera profile, third-party developers could then add it to existing RAW processors or write new ones.
All this should help squeeze out the highest image quality from existing hardware... and give tinkerers some more sleepless nights!
Other manufacturers are already going down this route(1), but it's not a matter of me-too, rather a way to make the most of necessarily modest camera hardware.
Access to raw file and an app like this will be great :): "UFRaw : If you shoot your digital photos in raw mode, this utility can help you manipulate and read the images right off your camera. Manage colors with ICC color profiles, and apply Nikon tone curves to your images—even if you don't own a Nikon camera."

IZ1IVA ( 2014-02-25 11:11:50 +0200 )editNot only that. I work with photography. The horrible artifacts from the compression and "halo" due to heavy sharpening drive me crazy. I'm still trying to figure out how to tweak the technical sides of Jolla since I never put myself into these things before. So please let me know any suggestion how I can learn to program in Sailfish. And if you're working on Jolla/apps regarding photography, I'd love to help out!

It seems the Oppo Find 7 is the first phone to offer RAW capture... will Jolla be the second? ;-)
