I would appreciate if you can realize the functionality to add an event without a time specification (Used for Celebration Days, Birthdays or any other notes).

Thanks to social media sync etc birthdays is not anymore the most common case, but there's still need to e.g. mark when I'm on vacation and it just feels stupid to mark some begin time and end time for vacation, It's the whole day or days.

Whole day events, like vacation, holidays (of other regions), etc. should not interfere with normal scheduled events on the same say. Therefore to use a whole day time span is not a replacement. A special record is needed.

Yes, this is a useful feature and supported by majority of calendar apps. The feature is in our roadmap and will come in an upcoming update.

@veskuh hi, I'm not sure if it was solved at some point, but now with 1.1.1.27 it seems not working anymore: An "All-day" event can be created on the Jolla and appears in ownCloud. But as soon as CalDav Sync is done, it is only visible in ownCloud and it disappears from the Jolla Calendar, weird...

OK for the Birthday. But anyway a whole day event in my opinion should be possible. The workaround 00:00 - 00:00 you mentioned is obviously. I did that already. It would be much nicer having no time instead of a time period giving 00:00 - 00:00. Just change the Input field so that it's possible to enter empty time value, or create an additional boolean field to select whole day (or no time). If you take a look to your own calender, I'm shure you will find entries without time ;-) Anyhow it would be very nice to realize this in the next release. I think the effort is worth it.

I tried the birthday as you proposed. It worked. But it shows in calendar "Ganztägig" (Whole Day) thats redundant. If there's no time it is the whole day. Instead it should show "Birthday". That would be more specific.

If I could choose additonal calender (like "Celebration Days", "School Vacations" etc.) this would be also solve the request.

For the Birthdays related to the person, the Jolla way is to do it via the contacts.

If you open the contact in the person app and activate the modification of the contact details (via pulley menu), it allows entering of special dates (currently two dates), which will create the whole day events in Jolla calendar.

When you do this first time these entries will create dedicated calendar, which you need to activate on Calendar app. via pulley menu => Manage calendars => Activate the one for birthdays, which is currently the only one working option. Unfortunately I haven't found the way to set dedicated alarm for the person driven birthday entry???

Naturally you can do normal event with time from 0.00 to 0.00, which creates whole day event. With this approach the event is not connected to any person and you may also give alarm time for created event. The new event is created to the default calendar of the Jolla phone.

The problem is that default calendar can't be selected nor you can't select any other calendar, if you have various accounts with calendar in your Jolla phone.

Having the special dates stored in various calendars and in Jolla phone will create situation where multiple events for the same reason will be shown in calendar. It might be wise to think in which calendar is used to drive special dates to avoid dublicate events and alarms.

Why so complicated ? What I only like to see is having the opportunity to left the input field for time empty. So there is only a very minor change in validation check (empty time field should be allowed). It doesn't look very sophisticated having an event spanning from 00:00 to 00:00, which actually means "empty" or "no time".
