Waiting for official inclusion, if any, you can follow this thread where it is explained what to change to add new search engines.

@Damien Caliste i have already seen it. but thank you for pointing anyway, i would say that it doesn't satisfy me doing some tinkered things in this level.
that's maybe a good solution for other people, who cannot wait.
have a good continuation

For summary, please jolla guys include coderus's search engine extension in sailfish repo or, the best, include it in the official image. Qwant is about to become the main google alternative in Europe (and may be elsewhere). It'd be great to use it directly from the official image of Sailfish OS.

what's the problem if i write this? could you explain your feeling please? I don't understand on how i could offence you if you seems to be...

cemoi71 ( 2017-11-13 17:00:30 +0300 )edit

what are you talking about? i want to understand why you think installing search engine you want is not a solution and why you want 100500+ search engines to be preinstalled.

please calm down. i told your solution is a good alternative.
For someone who don't have or want the third part alternative, it is not. but for other one that's perfect.
i believe (my own interpretation) that 3rd part are not from jolla supported. It is recognized, but that's your own problem if it crashed down, or make some weird things...
Do i told something wrong?
