I used an iPhone before I got my Sailfish X and I used iMessage before. I deactivated iMessage before switching to Sailfish X. So that's ok on my side.

Nevertheless some people keep sending picture messages from their iPhones sms/iMessage app to my phone number. Those messages arrive as MMS now and I have to pay when I am abroad, which is the case quite often.

I already deactivated automatic MMS download in Sailfish X settings, but yesterday I tapped accidentially on an MMS and downloaded it.

I want to stop this, because I never ever willingly use MMS, but apparently there is no possibility to simply delete the MMS APN.

Now I deleted all the credentials in Sailfish X MMS settings and replaced the APN "telekom.internet" by "---xxx---". This has been stored now, but will it definitely deactivate receiving and sending MMS? My provider is t-mobile in Germany.

The changements I made seem to block MMS, but MMS notifications still arrive via SMS. It would be great to simply be able to switch off MMS (or delete the APN). This (switching off) is possible on iOS. No idea how they do it, but apparently it's possible.

On Jolla1, there is a pulley menu atop of the MMS access point page, with one option labelled as Reset to default - have you tried that?, assuming there is a pulley menu there on SailfishX.

Yes there is that option in the pulley menu, but that doesn't help because it resets the MMS APN to your network operators default - which activates MMS. That's at least what happens on my Sailfish X. My question was, how to DEactivate MMS.

Okay, I didn't know that. Everyday is a school day.

As another possibility can you ask you provider to disable mms on your account. Is this an option?

@GD It's not possible to deactivate MMS separately, only all mobile internet traffic or nothing, I have been told.
