Do we need to worry about the ARM processor exploits in the news today? [answered]

With the Intel exploit in the news and seeing that it affects other processors such as AMD and ARM; I'm wondering from a Sailfish perspective if we need to be worried, because we might not get a patch as fast.

In general, I think we need to worry, but we still need to worry a lot less than many android users. Our devices are still getting updated, maybe not as fast as the average Linux distribution, but there will most likely be an update for this security problem.

Now compare this to the average WLAN access point, "smart" TV, web cam, cheap NAS or other digital gadget that ended up under the Christmas tree last year. Many of them will get no update at all.

Attack surface exposure is important here though. And here is where browsers kick in, as these attacks can be pretty much stealth in them based on Javascript.

You got a valid point there, at least for devices without a browser. On the other side, it there is no screen on the device, it is even more unlikely people are ever going to install an upgrade, even if there would be one available.
