For first I discovered this about few weeks ago (phone purchased in september), so not hardware problem.

I discovered weird behavior on my xperia x (sailfish 2.1.3.7). A few times I noticed that my phone not charging, I tried to few times to replug usb cable but didn't help. Then I remove whole charger and put back and then phone start charging.. I'm using xperia x original charger and cable.

I'm speculating if my patches from openrepos can cause this.

here is list of all patches I have:

  1. refresh browser cover
  2. Widget date hint 2
  3. auto snooze &snooze interval
  4. add new folder icons
  5. direct link to weather app
  6. replace eventsview setting by general setting
  7. ui rotate free (disabled)
  8. ultimate statusbar patch
  9. weather for xperia clock
  10. xperia clock
  11. messages layout
  12. allow store rotate
  13. allow clock rotate
  14. allow contacts rotate
  15. allow weather rotate
  16. allow orientation change of settings
  17. right handed remorse accept

these are directly copied from the installed patches tab in sailfish settings.

I tried one time another charger and same behavior.. Little bit annoying to remember to be aware that my phone not charging always. :/

Anyone else have same behavior? Hopefully you understand my description.

Edit. This behavior happens when sailfish running, I never countered this when phone is off.

Did you disabling all patches and rebooting?

If you suspect that patches are possibly the problem, then present to us, a list of the patches you use or at least, a list of the ones you think may be causing the problem.

Are you using original cable comming with xperia? Tried three different cables, but only the original one works without problems. What was really surprising, one cable is loading only up to 65% then it stys endless in charging state. The other cables get not recognized.

messages layout

allow store rotate

allow clock rotate

allow contacts rotate

allow weather rotate

allow orientation change of settings

right handed remorse accept

these are directly copied from the installed patches tab in sailfish settings.

Saimensays: I'm using only originsl cable.

The general idea is that you add the list of patches to your original question. Anyway, looking at the list of patches, I don't see why any of those patches should interfere with the charging process in my opinion. Also, use the @ symbol to get another users attention; like this ---> @Jk

It might also be a case of: The battery does get charged at hw/kernel level, but sfos userspace does not interpret the situation correctly -> charging indicators (led, icons, etc) remain at "not charging" state.

E.g. "xperia x (sailfish 2.1.3.7)" ... "using xperia x original charger and cable" -> there in an issue with quick charge detection - should be fixed in SFOS >= 2.1.4. More info at: https://together.jolla.com/question/170689/sailfish-x-quickcharge-bug/
