Hei,

Even though I already have an XperiaX with SailfishX, I am still longing for my late JP1301. Last week I connected it to a charger and the screen remained black. Ever since it does not turn on. It was at about 70% of charge.

Without battery, the LED is lit yellow for about ten seconds. With battery, nothing. Not even a vibe or a blink of light. Nada.

I think it might be the charging circuit. But can it be fixed?

Kiitos,

I am sorry to hear about your troubles, being a Jolla Phone user myself. Well it might be a number of things, maybe not even charging related. Have you tried another power source, like another charging source? HTC Desire 310 battery powers Jolla Phone, have you tried another battery? In your case it might be the battery that is malfunctioning. Do take those troubleshooting steps and let us know how it went

I had a similar problem. The charger socket in the phone was broken, so it didn't charge without some 'bending' of the charger cable. Since the socket is part of the board, there should be no easy way for repairs.

Hei,

Thanks for the advices. I believe - though my battery (original one from 2013!) started showing signs of deterioration - that it is not the battery as it was already at 70% (or so). Micro USB socket seems fine to me. I will try it with a HTC battery whenever I have the chance to get my hands on one.

It is so scary to think into it that this is my first phone in twenty years that was replaced because of a defect(?) and not desire...

You need a new battery! Jolla1 - even on USB supply - does not work without it.

Aside from those mentioned, here come two more suggestions:

Hei,

But does it happen so suddenly? I mean, from 70% to sudden death? I will try the suggestions.

I have a Patona B0PA2100, which is actually 2000mAh, don't be fooled into thinking 2100 is representative of its capacity - out of all the batteries I have; 3 x Jolla, 1 x Polarcell, 1 x GTIron & 1 x Patona, the Patona has the lowest usage time. I favour the GTIron (2200mAh) and the Polarcell (2100mAh).

Hei @pawel,

I would like to opt in for the original (Jolla?) battery.

Where is the logic in replacing an old battery with an old battery?
