When you do a new item in calendar there should be a parameter is the item private or not. Private:Mark this item as private so that other people cannot see the details of it, when you have for example "Microsoft Exchange"-client in use.

Edit: Still not implemented in 2.2.0.29
And not yet in 3.2.1.20

When this gets implemented, one should remember that settings from Outlook, or that uses the same syntax, only sets a flag that the calendar application is supposed to honour. When the calendar entry is looked at in some other way (e.g. mounting through caldav) it is available in clear text, not encrypted in any way.

This is important to me. I don't want my colleagues to see my private appointments.

I am constantly struggling with this. As mikael said, it is "only a flag" - hence it should be "only a checkbox" for the UI... Could you please implement this tiny thing to the next release?
