Dear community! I tried to update to 2.1.4.14. Something went wrong (no update page/no store). I tried to fix this problem by newly creating my jolla account. No luck. Well factory reset from software was my choice. I thought it would be good to start from scratch after 3 years of usage. After the reset the memory consumption was enormous. Before the reset I used about 7GB, now I used about 10GB, with less installed and surely less garbage "lying around". /opt showes about 43,37 GB /media shows about 40,937 GB When I understand /opt right, then the differentce between /opt and /media should be the used memory of the internal drive. (2,433GB in my case) I tried to balance, but just a few MB were cleared.

I tried to delete rec* as sugested here ([BUG]: Factory Reset: no storage left). but there are no rec* files just these:

@_old (2,35GB)

@ (1,73GB)

factory-@ (0,746GB)

@home (0,175GB)

@factory-@home (0,83GB)

Well the files with factory-@ in it are likely used for factory reset. Is it safe to delete the other files (not with factory-@) and is this the solution to my problem?

Thank you very much in advance for any help. Yours sincerely, broncheoli.

edit: I have a Jolla1. Factory reset was to 2.0.0.10. Sorry for having forgotten that.

edit 2: If it helps, here are the folder sizes shown in space inspector:

mnt (3500MB) home (943MB) usr (856MB) data (521MB) system (109MB) boot (74MB) var (49MB) firmware (45MB) lib (25MB) etc (11MB) bin (6MB) sbin (3MB) run (1MB)

SUM (6143MB) StorageApp-SFOS (10600MB) (3100MB left)

Where has all the storage gone? I don't understand that. Please, just a little help? Please note, I've done balancing, and I've looked into the subvolume for rec*, see above. Thank you.

Perhaps you need to reset device via option 1 in Recovery Mode:link text

Well that would be a horror! and I think none of the "When should I use Recovery Mode?"-things are given. And the phone runs quite smoothly after the reset from out of the menu. The only thing is the vanished storage. I will run btrfs balance once again to see if it makes any difference.

Thanks, aspergerguy.

Other suggestions still appreciated.
