Hi there.

Some time ago, there was a roadmap available at sailfish web page:https://sailfishos.org/roadmap/. However, it's pretty outdated. Is there any up to date roadmap publicly available?

There were some stuff shared in the blog a few months back.

https://blog.jolla.com/sailfish-x-whats-next/ + features coming in SFOS 3 after that.

Indeed, 2.2.0 and https://jolla.com/sailfish3/ is the short term roadmap. Both should be out in 2018, any plans after that seem to be undocumented.

The roadmap at https://sailfishos.org/roadmap/ should be updated or taken offline.

Well those things are not set in stone. Jolla is small, things can get screwed in the process (bugs etc) so no need for longer term plans i think.

What I miss the most is some communication or feedback from Jolla. There should be a release every month, but reality is very different. jolla guys should inform us about what is going on, on what they're working and what should we look for in the future / next release.

Sailfish is for enthusiasts for now and we need something to be exited for.

@krisko nowadays they go to a ~3 months release cycles. Also if you want to talk to Jolla people come to the community meetings happening every two weeks. Things are coming but are usually slow.

@krisko I don't think the community meetings are a replacement for a published roadmap. By which I don't mean to disparage the meetings, it's just that attendance may be difficult (e.g. clashing with work hours) and reading the transcripts afterwards requires determination. Having an up-to-date summary of the roadmap would be really helpful and a good reference. Personally, I'm very impressed with the 3 month release cycle from Jolla, given the size of team and community.

Roadmap not coming still, and maybe not coming at all, see 21/03 mer meeting log. Let us discuss this...

09:26:30 schmittlauch[m] Also, what's the ETA for the promised public roadmap?

09:26:46 r0kk3rz promised?

09:27:27 Jaymzz [... ]

09:27:27 schmittlauch[m] r0kk3rz: yes, at least one blog post promised it and Jaymzz once said that it will come "soon"

09:27:42 ViGe [...]

09:28:20 vknecht [...]

09:28:39 Jaymzz schmittlauch[m]: I think that blog post has not progressed since the last time I said that it was being worked on. So unfortunately I can't promise it will be released anytime soon. Other priorities happened.

09:29:01 r0kk3rz the last roadmap was mostly lies anyway

09:29:03 schmittlauch[m] [...]

09:30:11 Jaymzz r0kk3rz: I would not call it lies. In a business like Jolla's, changes to roadmaps are very common due to the size and the flexibility of the business. And that is one of the reasons that we don't usually go public with just "a" roadmap.

Well, it's all very clear, what is here to discuss? It means that some improvements may come in the future. Maybe in few months, or maybe in half-a-year. Jolla's making no commitments and is making it explicitly. "Stay tuned" (c) James Noori.

I meant to discuss the opportunity of James Noori to release, when asked, some news about an hypotetical feature, and then stating that the feature is not coming at all, taking advantage of the excuse of "flexible business" and leaving an aura of untrustyness. Read me well, I'm not denying his good intensions, I'm questioning the opportunity for Jolla communication team of releasing uncertain and unconfirmed facts.

I'm interested in this. Actually, roadmap and developementroadmap are offline... what a pitty! Any plans for a comeback? The roadmap in sailfish 3 page is 'almost' complete.

James Noori wrote in blog update 20. November 2018 that:
"We are also working on a public Sailfish 3 roadmap, which we will share with you in our blog as soon as it is ready. So stay tuned!"

I guess we will see a roadmap in near~ish future.

And that's the reason they took the previous roadmap offline.

I guess 'near~ish' is a Jolla term, And we all know what that means... ;)

Progress is a sad thing! "So stay tuned"!

"Sometimes the best Plan is not having a plan". Hakuna matata :D :D ,- heared it in The Lion King. :D

I think, that planning is essential because it provides clarity. Without a clear vision, you might be moving ahead but going nowhere. I have sold my Jolla phones because i had no information what to expect, when to expect... Good luck for Jolla team. I am still quite curious if there ever will be any flagship device to buy.
