putting this out here to see whether others have experienced the same and thus pinpointing the real issue here.

I have been using the Jolla1 solely as a wifi hotspot for almost a year now - without issues, I'm happy to say. Since last week when I updated to 2.2.0.29, I have once had to restart the wifi hotspot (which solved a connection issue on the connected computer) and for the last past days I've noticed something else too. It seems the bandwidth is dramatically lower (like, below 1Mbps, when usually it is above 10Mbps) and also connection timeouts started to occur. Nothing in the environment has changed (a desktop computer, a couple of smartphones). I noticed, that speedtest.net gave 0,7 Mbps to the connected computer, but above 10Mbps to the Jolla1 (wifi hotspot) itself, as measured through the web browser on the phone. So it seems the issue is not with the operator. A restart of the wifi hotspot did nothing this time, but a restart of the phone fixed it - at least for now the desktop computer also gets 10Mbps bandwidth through the Jolla1 wifi hotspot.

And there's where I'm now.

Update: yeah, still problems. Have a dual sim subscription so troubleshooting is easy: at the moment jolla1 wifi hotspot is capped to less than 1mbps, while my other sim in anothet phone gives 18mbps.

And when I pressed the hotspot icon on jolla1 (to toggle wifi hotspot on/off) - jolla1 immediately rebooted. And that's not all - the desktop computer (linux mint 18.4) connected to it froze and I had to do a hard reset.
