Currently, after the power button is pressed, you can hold your finger on the fingerprint reader, and the phone UI will go straight to app view. That's nice. What's not nice is that if the phone was not locked, but merely had a disabled screen you'll find yourself holding your finger against the sensor like an idiot and wondering what went wrong.

With the phone locked, touching the sensor unlocks it and goes to homescreen. With the phone not locked, touching the sensor does nothing and you still have to swipe your finger across the screen to see your running apps. It'd be nice if touching the sensor acted like the swipe, regardless of whether the phone was locked or not. It doesn't even have to check if the fingerprint is right or not, since it's already unlocked.
