This post is a wiki.
Anyone with karma >75 is welcome to improve it.
If you want to delete a picture and have to go tap/share - pulley/delete, it does indeed seem complicated. But it's only two gestures and frankly I don't know any other device, where you need less than two gestures (tap/delete - tap/yes). What makes it 'complicated' though is, that your first step always takes you to 'share' option, and all other options reside in the pulley-menu somewhat 'behind' the 'share' option. The same is true for the way back from a picture to Thumbnails and Photos/Video/Ambience. In the beginning this 'complication' prompted me several times to close the Gallery app, to get back to Gallery by the launcher, until I got it, that you have to step over share to slide your way back.
So indeed as @gasteis has pointed at, it would make sense, to have a pulley menu 'options' you can reach from the picture directly. But in order to make things less and not more complicated, you would have to move all options (and the create ambience preferably with a countdown) to make them directly accessible from pictures, while by tapping you would get back to/split open **thumbnails.
I have another proposal, that might offer a somewhat broader solution to camera usability including camera settings. I will post that in Answer 2 while I post this one as a wiki, in order not to be mistaken as Karma-hunter.
Agreed. The pulley menu should be directly accessible.
pnuu ( 2013-12-25 23:26:10 +0200 )editYou can also zoom and pan the picture. When zoomed, the suggested gesture does pan, when not zoomed it is pulley menu. This may be confusing?
jpek-m ( 2014-02-03 21:28:03 +0200 )editAnd double tap can zoom in 100% and out (to fit). So the pully menu will be easily accessible.
