Advanced Mobile Location is a system where when you make a call to the emergency services your phone also starts sending location information to them. This has been deployed in Android devices since Gingerbread as Emergency Location Service (ELS), and Apple devices since IOS 11.3. How about also Jolla?

Functionality
AML automatically turns on mobile data on the handset (which may lead to charges to the user), automatically contacts Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers and sets date, and sends IMSI/IMEI over unencrypted (but invisible to the user) SMS message. -- Wikipedia

Does AML also account for the emergency alert systems? This may be a very American thing, but I doubt the US is the only place with some type of alert system that the mobile phone is a part of.

This would neat feature at least in Finland, as Digia doesn't support Sailfish -version of 112 Suomi -application, which basically did the same thing.

It's a huge subject in Europe those days. AML can save your life. Please consider to deploy AML in SailfishOS.
