I sometimes receive short films from iOS devices. These films are in .MOV format. The gallery can handle these files, since they open fine if I change the file ending to .mp4. I have also added the correct mime types, for .mov, to the gallery video stream desktop file and updated the desktop and mime databases. Then I can open the .mov file directly from the mail app.

My suggestion is to add "video/quicktime" and "video/mpeg" to the Mimetypeentry in /usr/share/applications/jolla-gallery-playvideostream.desktop, so that it looks like MimeType=x-scheme-handler/rtsp;video/3gpp;video/mp4;video/quicktime;video/mpeg;, to make it possible to open these files, since the gallery application already handles these types.
