auto unlock sim card - don't ask for the sim pin
After booting the phone it asks to enter the lockscreen code (or fingerprint it) and then ask me for the sim PIN. Simple thing, the phone should just unlock the simcard on systemboot, wihout asking the user to enter the PIN.
Why? It is just annoying and useless, sometimes I reboot the phone and forgot for hours to enter the pin. Since I have to unlock the phone to use it, it should be secure enough for the phone to enter the sim pin itself. Even better, if someone else reboot the phone (e.g. I lost it, battery empty, someone find it, charge it, turn it on) it would be immediately online.
And NO, I don't want to disable the sim PIN, since this would be really wrong.
Yes, this would be a welcome enhancement IHMO. Storing the PIN in the keyring should be fairly easy and safe. And, of course, this should be optional and revokable.
