Can't open pdf from download

I can't open pdf from download or with filemanager. Documents is not in xdg-open for pdf. Error message: "No application to open the file xdg-open found no preferred application (3)". If i run documents i see my pdf and can open it correctly. I tried xdg-mime default sailfihs-office.desktop application/pdf but it didn't work. Adding application/pdf=sailfish-office.desktop; to /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache made it work but i need to sneak peek before i can see the pdf.
