  1. I often read here about CSD tool but haven't found it in sailfish GUI nor in Jolla store nor at openrepos. Now I think this is intended, isn't it? I've finally found it by searching the file system. Is there any documentation about it? csd --help doesn't return anything.
  2. I start CSD tool in CLI by typing csd, is this the common way to do? Devel-su not needed?
  3. How do I close the app properly? I've done it so far by swipe down but the connection states didn't restore. Location and bluetooth stayed activated although they were switched off before starting CSD tool. On the disclaimer page of CSD tool it clearly says that hardware states will be restored when closing the tool.

Jolla Phone with SFOS 3.0.0.8

search CSD... You'll find , go setting/ about/ tap build number (3.0.0..) more than five times, and CSD will start.

Oh, nice easter egg, thanks for the hint! I searched before posting but only found special issues concerning CSD (as seen from the titles and also peeked into some) but nothing general how to start CSD tool.

Whether you type CSD in terminal or tap 5+ times on SFOS build number in Settings/About page, both are doing the same thing, but by doing the tapping method to get CSD, you should be presented with a Disclaimer and having to swipe left to accept and then you get into the GUI of CSDTool,

  1. Documentation? - good question, I don't know without digging. I suppose it is intended, it's a tool that shouldn't be required often and doesn't need to 'be on show' in the OS.

  2. Clearly permission isn't required, I don't know why. You're only starting a diagnostic app, there are no 'tools' in csd, nothing to fix. You will find your phone number in there somewhere in SIM section.

  3. Swiping down from top left corner or top right corner is the sailfish way to close most apps. I don't know about the rest of your third question as I rarely use CSD and haven't scrutinised the Disclaimer.

Thanks for your reply! Disclaimer also appears if the app is called by CLI.
