Today, December 11, 2018, there was a real breakthrough, because the public was presented the first Russian tablet, working on the basis of the operating system Sailfish OS.
The tablet computer is called the Multikor 1892VM14Ya, and its basis is the Russian Salyut-EL24PM processor, manufactured using the 40-nm process technology.

Is this troll or joke or what? 40nm processor in end of 2018?
Privacy is the reason?
Jk ( 2018-12-11 23:07:11 +0200 )editIt needs external power and can't yet work with SFOS? I suppose this is meant to be funny. Too bad, I was hoping it was real and we'd actually be able to get our hands on a working SFOS-powered tablet.
sunburnedpenguin ( 2018-12-12 10:02:10 +0200 )editLooks like one of those developer boards, not an actual tablet.
pisarz1958 ( 2018-12-12 10:41:00 +0200 )edit@Jk 40nm because they use their own production process. as a european im so damn jealous. i wish europe had indipendent fabs like that! even if they are behind some generations

Who gives a shit if its made somewhere else. If Taiwan can do it better/cheaper no need to be left behind because of national pride and all those crap. Most of the time things that appear to be "patriotic" are for the benefit of people near the state.
