The new system-update arrived as promised Jan/2014.

See http://jollasuomi.fi/seuraava-sailfish-paivitys-on-1-0-3-3-naamankajarvi/ (in Finnish, apparently a Jolla user took the phone to DNA service and when he got his phone back the operating system was changed to version

Edit 31.1.2014 the version number is

EDIT 27.1. Since a Jolla moderator (@bijjal) today has tagged questions in the roadmap with a new tag jan14, it seems that this is a definite indicator that there will be an update by the end of the month.

This looks very promising. Update should propably arrive next week if comparing the release schedule of December Maadajävri release.

TimTTK ( 2014-01-26 21:43:26 +0300 )edit

Maybe 27.1. since Maadajävri was released on 27.12.?

Neo ( 2014-01-27 01:30:21 +0300 )edit

.. info or rumour? - that is the question ;)

foss4ever ( 2014-01-27 03:05:25 +0300 )edit

Yes, but what are the changes? :)

mikelima ( 2014-01-27 10:40:06 +0300 )edit

@mikelima Search for tag roadmap in this forum and you'll get a quite good view what might be there in the pipeline..ready to land to our devices most likely this week.. ;)

Seems that the features and fixes to land on Jolla Jan/2014 upgrade are being tagged in Together as we speak, see here: https://together.jolla.com/questions/scope:all/sort:activity-desc/tags:jan14/page:1/

Edit: source of these jan14 tags is @biijal so we can quite safely say they are the real thing ;)

I'd be nice to see more keyboard layouts.

ApB ( 2014-01-27 14:46:30 +0300 )edit

who is tagging? Is this done by a sailor?.. just to prevent any speculations, and possible disappointments

teun ( 2014-01-27 15:08:35 +0300 )edit

@teun It was noticed by @Neo and in fact there are more tags appearin, but.I am on mobile so can't see who has made the last update to those questions. Just check it out if you see that info in the re-tagged Questions. And if it isn't official this answer and all references to that tag should be removed / deleted.

foss4ever ( 2014-01-27 15:13:58 +0300 )edit

I see now, it is bijjal .. so we can probably trust it

teun ( 2014-01-27 15:20:12 +0300 )edit

@teun Thanks, edited the Answer accordingly..

Landscape mode coming to the new update. Search for the new tag jan14to see what will be in the new update. (https://together.jolla.com/questions/scope:all/tags:jan14/)

Please feel free to add the questions tagged with jan14:

  • Landscape mode in keyboard, gestures, browser and messages
  • Differentiate native SailfishOS and Android apps in Jolla store
  • Show slash (/) in the on-screen keyboard of the browser
  • Confirm calling from call list to prevent pocket calls
  • In calendar app it should be possible to select agenda and enter location

Isn't it much easier to follow the link that lists all the questions with that tag? BTW: I'd change my answer to Wiki if I could but being on mobile can't do it. Feel free to do it on my behalf, cause I'm not after karma here ;)

foss4ever ( 2014-01-27 15:32:56 +0300 )edit

Try Webcat. For now it looks better for Together than the native browser app or the unofficial Together app :)

Neo ( 2014-01-27 15:43:26 +0300 )edit

@Neo Right, done ;) Webcat is pretty awesome, except hard to find an optimal font-size that makes the text easily readable while not messing the layout conpletely. But, I just love to be able to adjust the browser font-size, stock www-client should have that, too ;)

foss4ever ( 2014-01-27 16:00:08 +0300 )edit

Webcat was a pain for me especially here @ together... When I went landscape to portrait and vice versa I got only half screen view...very annyoing. Also facebook UI was bad...

t0mps0 ( 2014-01-27 16:11:35 +0300 )edit

@t0mps0 Yes it has issues when switching between landscape/portrait modes, and this constant appearing of vkbd everytime Together pages are reloaded is akso very annoying..

They should take their time and not be put under pressure to release today. I prefer a stable over a rushed release :).

Who said it would be rushed, if it's just planned, and scheduled? Stable it will be, as it has been ;) Let's have some trust, and share some #unlike love <3

foss4ever ( 2014-01-31 12:04:28 +0300 )edit

Yes, sure but this thread looks like pressure with some comments ;).

Or just some innocent community excitement, and anticipation for what's to come ;)

foss4ever ( 2014-01-31 12:27:41 +0300 )edit

not gonna sell my jolla if the update doesnt come jan14 =)

t0mps0 ( 2014-01-31 13:39:19 +0300 )edit

wondering if Jolla servers will be totally stuck after the update comes out. Hopefully not.

Now I got the update notification for the Jolla apps. But from what I learned last time I only update them after system update ;).

You think we don't learn from our mistakes? :p

Aard ( 2014-01-31 17:39:53 +0300 )edit

I believe you learn from mistakes but I let others try it first ;). Better safe than sorry.

And my Jolla is the only one from three in the room which shows app updates :x.
