Tracked by Jolla (In release)

I don't get SMS delivery reports on my XA2 Dual-SIM. The options is enabled. Do I have a local problem or is it a general bug?

Your phone probably lost the network connection (4G or 3G) and found it back a bit later and the delivery reports don't work any more. That's what happens with my phone (Xperia X). When this happens I either have to go in flight mode or reboot the phone.

same thing here. Have never received SMS delivery reports on XA2. Tried switching on/off... didn't help

I have the same problem using XA2 Plus and O2 Germany

And same here, but on single-sim. Does it even work for anyone? Or is it indeed provider/network-related?

This was fixed in 3.0.3.8 release, https://together.jolla.com/question/203846/changelog-303-hossa/#203846-ofono-ril-binder-plugin

It works randomly for me on XA2 Plus (dual sim). It sometimes shows the delivery report, sometimes not, even if the message was delivered correctly.

No delivery report here, XA2 plus on 3.1.

One of the recent updates redesigned the Messages view. Since then, the default view only shows the day (or date, if it was long ago) and time when the message was sent in the status line below the message. However, when you tap the message, the view changes to a longer format with weekday, date, time and delivery check mark.

This was too subtle for me and I only discovered it by accident. I wish there were a way in the message app's settings to make that long format status line the default.

You are the hero ;). Thanks a lot for this hint… It never would have come into my mind to tap the message again in order to see the delivery details.

@Jolla: Sorry for the accusation ;).

I think the thread can be marked as "answered" now.

Definitely NOT!

I have a XA2 and confirm that the tick mark is there after tapping the message. But only for older/imported messages. NOT for e.g. today (or last week) sent messages. And I definitely have/had this setting for delivery reports enabled after flashing!!!

peterleinchen ( 2019-10-01 22:25:36 +0200 )edit

Really? Tapping the sent message to see the status? What were they thinking...? 😕

I very much missed the sent-status since the last?! update.

Thanks for the hint! I absolutly agree with @sloh: the detailed view should be shown by default. What (good) reason could be there, not to do so - can't think of any... @Jolla - room for improvement here.

It definitely was not fixed in 3.0.3.8 release and it is still not working in 3.1.0.11 on XA2+ DS (and most likely not on Xperia X as well).

@Jolla: You should "re-track" this bug again and remove the "In release" comment in this thread ;)

Hi, I just replied to another thread as I just flashed my new XA2+ DS with sailfish 3.1.0.11 and Sony V16 and SMS delivery reports do work correctly on both X and XA2+. Cheers.

Strange... I did excactly the same beginning of August and started with 3.1.0.11 on the XA2+ DS... no idea what happened.

vision ( 2019-09-30 17:14:36 +0200 )edit

For me delivery reports are still a disaster: sometimes (most often) no delivery reports, sometimes I get them (maybe after a reboot as you described above @Maximilian1st, I'll try to check), sometimes it's stuck in Sending... but correctly sent (which is annoying as I can't make the différence with when there is a sending issue :@)

In short: sms still not ok in Sailfish in 2019 :(

Hello, in my XA2 Plus DS it was enough to save all contacts in international format (I live in Poland) so: + 48XXXXXXXXX and all SMS reports are visible, SFOS 3.0.3

Edit: I send sms to various cellular networks and reports are visible, Orange Polska network, SFOS 3.0.3.8 EA

All my contacts are in international format and I get no delivery reports since the latest update. Did you make another change that could have solved the problem?

Maximilian1st ( 2019-04-29 00:26:21 +0200 )edit

@Maximilian1st: Is your phone an Xperia X? Which variant, single or dual SIM? If dual, does not issue happen with both SIM cards, or with just one (which slot)?

Hi, I guess this was my mistake. It does work flawlessly on both my Xperia X F5122 and XA2 F4413. I did not know you need to touch the sent message to see the delivery status.
