[tablet] Choppy scrolling performance in launcher

This has been a problem for years now:

Scrolling on the Jolla Tablet is overall smooth as it should be, except in one really important case: opening the app launcher on top of a Sailfish application, or on top of the home/events screen, makes the scrolling in the app launcher extremely choppy to the point that it feels like the tablet is fifteen years old. This doesn't happen on the Jolla Phone, where all of this is smooth.

However, if you open the app launcher on top of an Android application, scrolling in the app launcher is smooth as butter.

What's going on here? Is it some sort of QML bug?

I feel the same. My jolla tablet is not even close smooth. If i open 2-3 app the background tablet is so choppy.

Aida64 shows PMICDIE temp 1230-1390c. What is PMICDIE?

that's an odd temperature reading 1230c - 1390c (steel melts at +1370c), clearly the '0' is the small 'o' of centigrade symbol, making your temp 123c-139c ( °c ) (keyboard shortcut for Celsius symbol: ALT +176) - no wonder things are laggy/choppy. Or the same symbol in unicode "\U+00B0"

Power Management Integrated Circuit - DIE may refer to the substrate of the CPU.
