is it possible to add merge function?

It's already there and it's called link. Open contact and choose Link from the pulley menu.

There is a merge feature allready. Select contact -> swipe down for the menu and select link. Now select duplicate contact.

There is one.
Open a contact, open the pully the second from the top says "link", that's it.
