Whisperfish (Crowdfunding)
I know this question was already raised, but this app is very crucial for me (and i think for others too).

I even would pay for the development of a working native signal client. So what to do? Maybe crowdfunding is a possible solution. If a developer would start such a crowdfunding initiative for adopting whisperfish i would support him or her.
What do you think? Would you support crowdfunding for whisperfish?
What a great idea! 👍 I'm in!
I need whisperfish so much, it's working fine, but how long will it do without support?
me_on_the_road ( 2019-04-05 09:20:40 +0200 )editIs there any easier way to install it than the terminal commands on that GitHub link? Been using .rpms from OpenRepo, Storeman and Jolla Store for everything else. Would love to use a working signal client, long term support crowdfund I'd back!
HaydGately ( 2019-04-05 09:25:52 +0200 )editIf you don't have to stay with the Whisperfish UI one possible solution could be to add a Signal protocol module to the proposed Multi Protocol Chat Client

Maximilian1st ( 2019-04-05 11:58:45 +0200 )edit@HaydGately: there's a releases page, you can grab an RPM from there and install it on your device: https://github.com/aebruno/whisperfish/releases
It still works, but has some bugs and doesn't support any of the new Signal features. The good thing is that you can easily link it to the official desktop client (which, unfortunately, is a stupid Electron application, but it's better than nothing), which won't stop working even if Whisperfish does.
