IMPORTANT: do not update your XA2 device to Android 9, or else installing Sailfish OS will brick your device.

Sailfish OS works on Android 8 only. More in release notes.

Thanks Filip! Didn't notice that, it's possible I would've installed Pie while waiting for a functional version of SFOS for my XA2... and bricked my phone then... But maybe 3.0.3 is already good enough to re-enter the realm of Sailfish... God I miss already SF (having used Android now for 2 months I'm starting to have allergic reactions) 😀

@lumen

You're welcome. I did brick mine. But didn't know back then. Not resolved yet and I hope it's not permanent. SFX has it's quirks but I choose it any day as I really don't fell comfortable and safe with Android.

Sorry to hear about that. I have to say I dont understand why Android's version has anything to do with Sailfish. The phone's memory will be erased totally... Pretty weird!

@lumen

Thx. SF uses driver implementation from Android so it's not fully erased.

Before using Sailfish I wanted to try LineageOS. So I installed LineageOS 16 (Android 9). Does this imply, that this issue does affect me too? Sailfish is installed using an image. So why can there be some remainig drivers? Is it possible to install LineageOS 15 (Android 8) and then flashing Sailfish?
