Signal Private Messenger bugs
I am using signal and discovered some annoying bugs when running on aliendalvik a long time ago. (i am using it without google play services or microG)
- SMS are getting imported despite settings for SMS/MMS being disabled
- Sync for phonebook is not working 100%
- i can only answer incoming messages but not write new ones because i can't see any contacts in the list
- i can't see any contact when writing a new message (tap on the pencil icon) but somehow when i create a group i can invite contacts when typing their names (but some contacts are not there)
- initial contacts sync is working partly when installing the app for the first time. I say partly because the names of some contacts are not displayed right (just the number) for received messages
- Video calling does not work. As soon as the recipient or myself are answering the call the app just crashes
Does anyone have the same problems? And the even more important question is - did someone find a solution? Does it work better with microG?
EDIT: i have to mention that when i use the desktop app all the names for contacts are displayed correctly
In order to see your contacts, create or update a local contact on Sailfish, then wait......then wait some more..... At some point you should see _all_ your contact phone numbers, but not the contact names.
This workaround is somewhere documented in some other thread on this page.
