Bugs and battery drain issues with 3.0.3 Hossa?
I received the Hossa update (not early access), my question is the following, I just read bugs and errors (drain battery), is reliable to install this update?
Thx
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

Concerning the battery drain, if you have OSM Scout Server installed, you should switch off automatic activation in the settings unless there's an updated version for Hossa (which has meanwhile been published by @rinigus). There may be more issues like this one that we don't know of yet, given the massive change of fundamental libraries in Hossa. Other issues seem to be device specific.
Every OS (iteration) has its bugs. If you are concerned, read up on the comments in the release notes and decide for yourself.
OK all updates in all kind of hardware has bugs and some problems, but after many Sailfish releases I see more threads about "new" bugs than solutions for old bugs, thats my reason for asking.
strobovalo ( 2019-05-10 23:30:45 +0200 )editFor me it seems to be that the XA2 got better energy management, but the Xperia X has much more batery drain now. I use the X and now the battery only holds one day. Before the update it lasted for 3 days. I don't use the OSM server btw.
My last test concerning this issue is that my high consumption was related to GhostCloud. I saw with top in command line that harbour-owncloud was using 96% of a cpu. I unistalled ghoscloud, and now my consumption is quite normal (about 150mW, instead of 1200mW). SystemDataScope indicates that the remaining battery is about for 20h, and the remaining capacity is 36%.
VincentB ( 2019-05-17 16:16:00 +0200 )editThanks for the hints, but I didn't found any high cpu consumption app with top. Battery drain is clearly worse with 'hossa' and it seems odd to me that only one cpu core is used 90% while the others run in very low percentages.
I hope jolla will fix the energy managemnent for Xperia X with the next update and installed WiFikller now, maybe I will have a little bit more battery left in the evening through that...
h.berd ( 2019-05-17 23:25:14 +0200 )editI’ve been dealing with Cloudflare since it was a young company, however reluctantly, at work. I’ve seen public institutions coming to rely on this foreign company and relaying all traffic through it FirstBankCard.
This thread is public, all members of Together.Jolla.Com can read this page.

For me, its very stable (xa2)
bomo ( 2019-05-10 01:44:14 +0200 )editI'm also using it on XA2. This update solves the sensor issue, also gives a newer (less outdated) version of Gecko, so it is recommended to upgrade!

strobovalo ( 2019-05-10 04:05:09 +0200 )editBesides proximity sensor anoyance it improved my battery drain (WiFi) drasticaly. Enough for 4 days.
Filip K. ( 2019-05-10 07:01:30 +0200 )editNo issues with the proximity sensor and no abnormal battery drain any more with this update on my XA2.
