Just flashed to Hossa after being on the android side for 5 moths - to my disappointment - I cannot use:

  • Whatsapp: create/login account page will not send sms-code? Help message says my phone is rooted - any way to get around this?

  • EasyPark - starting the application creates a loop and it never starts???

  • Spotify - the app never starts???

Outlook for Android works as well as Teams

At least all of the above were functioning in my old X

Any help would be appreciated - I installed G-play & services from the Aptoide shop

I guess the stuff from aptoide is not working. Check this thread https://together.jolla.com/question/205890/howto-install-google-play-services-on-baseport-8-devices-from-the-phone-itself-tested-working/

Btw, spotify has no issues with running without google stuff. It works perfectly on my XA2. I guess there is something messed up on your device.

Not really sure if this could be the cause of your problem, but check on "store" settings, at the very bottom there's an option to choose: "Allow root installation" next to a checkbox. Try ticking it on and off, and reinstall if you get the message again. Maybe that could help.

Easypark needs Google Play Services. After I installed opengapps by the recently posted tutorial, it seems to be working. Didn't try to sign in yet though, but I get past the first screen.

Just to check things out, I signed in to the EasyPark app, entered a parking lot number and rolled the wheel a bit. It seems to be working ok with opengapps installed.

OK - got the WA working by giving it all possible "rights" from the Android settings and turning off Developer mode (don't think this was neccessary though?)

...but it seems that getting to Android settings for other apps does not work???

"Developer mode" happens on the Sailfish OS side of things, it's completely invisible to Android apps.

With lots of apps "Help message says my phone is rooted" usually it means some test has failed. In the case of your phone, there is no "SU" command, so it's not actually rooted.

It might be due to Google Play Service not working as they should. Check the link mentionned by bomo about how to properly install them.

If you do not need them, do not actually install them.
