On many websites zooming out causes whole page or part of the page go blank. Sometimes it's complicated to get the page visible again.

For example: jolla.com

  1. Scroll down to hide menu bar of the website and browser's URL bar.

  2. Zoom fully out.

  3. Try to zoom out again --> page goes blank and it's not possible to get the browser's URL bar visible by scrolling.

I tried to search if this reported, but no luck.

Can this be reproduced with other phones? I'm using single SIM XA2.

I can reproduce this bug with Xperia X. Happened with earlier SW versions too.

I can confirm this. Started happening with 3.0.3.9 update. Dual sim XA2. Needs browser restart to continue browsing.

I cannot.reproduce this one on JollaC. Especially as.jolla.com is shown in mobile view and there is no zoom out fully possible at all.

But what I have encountered before is the screen blanking when changing from portrait to landscape (or vice versa). Changing back orientation shows content. To get the other orientation working I needed new tab/window (never checked if this is mentioned somewhere).

This is most likely just a bug in gecko rendering the website. Sometimes these "blank screen" etc. happen also when you're browsing some website. I've also noticed some vertical white lines going on left side of the screen when website isn't rendered properly. I'd say these are only cause of the old engine version for the Sailfish browser

Jolla has also stated that the browser is being worked on and they're trying to upgrade the gecko engine version in the future Sailfish releases. So I think (and I hope) that those updates will help with this issue too

And by the way, I can reproduce this on XA2 dual sim too :)

Yepp, I experience that phenomena frequently on my XA2 2sim with Hossa.

Hossa includes the upgraded gecko engine already.

@leszek, I'm aware of that too. But what I really meant by this was the thing that they're now trying to constantly upgrade the version since it's yet too old even though they've upgraded it.

@Sakke I have high doubts. Very high actually. The way Jolla treated the browser and its engine in the past is a huge let down and an indicator for the future aswell I fear.
