Notifications do not work at all for Telegram Android on the Xperia XA2 Ultra , previously I had Xperia X and both worked okay, on the new phone notifications appear in Sailfish notifications area, but no led and vibration ever comes up.

To put it simply, it's not implemented yet. This question has been asked quite frequently so your question is duplicate of for example https://together.jolla.com/question/206812/bug-notification-sound-not-playing-on-new-messages-in-android-layer-whatsappthreema/

Thanks for answering, it was not strictly Telegram related, so I have not noticed the question you linked when looking in the search feature.

Hope Jolla is going to put a priority on this one, because Telegram is one of the few important IM apps around, from a company that values privacy way more than other, more widespread ones, like whatsapp, that I never really used, and am never going to install on my Jolla phone.

I waited since December 2018 to upgrade from Xperia X to XA2 Ultra, thinking a few months and a coulpe of upgades to Sailfish were enough to sort out the initial Sailfish OS for XA2 early youth bugs, but if after six months one of the most used and privacy respectful app still has incomplete compatibility and support...well....'cmon Jolla.... :)

Considering that messaging is the one activity where people spend most of their time on a smartphone today, this should in my opinion get a top priority to be solved and sorted out.

It's unfortunate that I am now forced to go back using my Xperia X just for having messaging notifications working :(

Anyone knows a good native telegram client that is still developed and uograded ?

Thanks for your help.

@Igor71, I'm sure it's under the investigation (notifications). Yet still, Android support is in beta phase which, for me, means that I wouldn't assume too much

For the telegram thing, take a look at this https://openrepos.net/content/thebootroo/telegrame which seems to be updated regurarly

You can also search from here Jolla together questions that are related to native clients. Openrepos though is a good place to start looking for apps
