After any android app is started, a blue rectangle shows up on the right hand side of the screen. It looks like some kind of an overlay in android app

but sometimes also on the main screen

I am not sure, but touch screen sensitivity seems to drop when rectangle is active, so possibly this box somehow makes screen less sensible.

Xperia XA2, Dual Sim, exists since 3.0.3 to 3.1.0.

Has anybody experience similar behavior?

It seems to be the on hand usage of the "Aliendalvik Control". See the video on Youtube. :-) Try to swipe up on this rectangle and a dot will show up in the top right corner, so that you can move it around the upper screen and use the phone only with one hand.
