Last year Sailfish X support was added to Xperia XA2 line. Are there going to be any new entries this year? Just noticed Sony has added Xperia 1, this year's flagship to Open Device program. Would be cool to see SFOS on actual flagship hardware. Also, an unused XA2 has become almost impossible to find for sale, so new supported devices would help

It would be wonderful to find Sailfish X for the PinePhone. No android driver blobs needed...

technically speaking, it is worse than XA2 devices (e.g. camera).

on the other hand, Xperia X had better hw than XA2, so maybe it is a tradition... ;)

The conspiracy theorist on me says Sony's support in contingent on Jolla focusing on certain models that sold particularly poorly. The realist in me appreciates that i can get last year's midrange phone with decent specs for €300 or less. I'm a firm believer in that we are in a post spec-wars world, and the PC-fication of phones is in the consumer's best interest.

@zlutor less MP doesn't mean worst. We don't need 23MP in phone. 8MP is enough. I don't worry about is phone has better specs then previous one. I worry about pace in making SFOS stable on this Sony phones by Jolla.

@atlochowski “640KB should be enough for anything”, right? ;)

of course, spec is one thing but I would prefer some improvement but definitely not degradation...

and, 8mpx is not really enough - unless it is Carl Zeiss optics paired with really good, optimized software. Even the real N9 had challenges in this front back then...

Sounds good. Did they also give any idea when it would become available? I'm just considering whether I should wait for official Xperia 10 port or splurge on one of the handful of last available XA2 Ultras still available on Amazon, with customs and everything adding to a fairly punishing price. All of the most important apps (e.g. banking) are phasing out Android 4, so my Xperia X is becoming less useful by the month.
