What's wrong with making backup of Gallery? [answered]
I just realized that since I've had the device I have not been able to backup the Gallery. I have made different kinds of backups using Settings > System settings > Backup usually before system updates, and no matter how I.do them the Gallery will not get backuped to the .vault
My Gallery has now 1.2 GB of videos and 200.MB of photos, but tthe backups failed also when there were much less videos and photos in Gallery (less than 500 MB)
When I start making backup with all apps/modules selected in the GUI and type a name of the backup and press Create, the backing-up starts (the indicator shows moving bars) and each app changes color to green but when it gets to Gallery the indicator turns to yellow and it stays there a long time and tthen turns to red (no other ettors or messages are shown).I
Ir then backups the rest and when finished shows the backup name in the Restore-section with correct name and date-time info (the red indicator also disappears then when they all turn white). The same happens if only Gallery is selected to be backuped.
Going to terminal and checking the .vault directory shows all other module directories (Accounts, Browsere, ..), but not the Gallery.
So whats wrong, and.has anyone else experienced this?
@jjaone At least for me the backup was successful for all seven categories including the gallery.
I have in the gallery very small number of pictures i.e. 33 pictures, 0 videos and 14 ambiences.
During the backup process the yellow indicator stays on longest for the gallery, but finally turns green.
Could it be related to the number of objects and/or their size during the backup process?
My Linux knowledge is rather poor and I can't find the .-folders => Are they hidden folders in Linux?
How to find them with Jolla?
Kari ( 2014-01-31 08:04:44 +0200 )editNo the module/app folders in /home/nemo/.vault are not hidden, and you can see everything in that dit with doing
foss4ever ( 2014-01-31 08:24:19 +0200 )editls -la /home/nemo/.vault
and all the others are there except the Gallery. Also, the fact that the status indicator is yellow a long time and then turns to red in the GUI is pretty clear sign that the backup fails (in respect to Gallery, that is).In regards to the amount of data I have in Gallery, yeah now there are 200 photos and 20 videos, altogether about 1500 MB. So could that be it? But, how did the backups fail already in the firdt week when there was only handful of pictures and no videos (def less than 200 MB of data)?

ls -la /home/nemo/.vault I should do with terminal as File browser nor cargo dock doesn't show the .-folders at least not for me?
I guess it is the -a that does the actual trick in this case =>
-a, --all do not hide entries starting with .
In my Jolla also Gallery folder is created

mounted partition in my device has 4 GB used of 14 GB so there is plenty of space (10 GB). Or is the .vault mounted to some smaller partition, maybe?
