Remove the dash and spaces in entered phone numbers

Version 3.2 introduced something really stupid - when entering phone numbers in the dialer, they are chopped up with a dash and spaces. I don't want phone numbers chopped up, I want it to work like it has done since the beginning of Sailfish. If others want their numbers chopped, then add a configuration option in the phone settings to turn it on - but don't force a change like this on everybody.

could you provide screenshot? I do not see this behaviour (which would be stupid as each country has a different grouping of digit blocks, or personal preference)

Nevertheless I think some spaces are added when number begins with 0 or +. But I did not see any dash. I personally do not use them that much but some numbers are grouped like this in Exchange or other tools. And it is good that SFOS supports that at least.

Tested with some different city numbers of Germany and it seems adding spaces works reliably for different cities!

123456789
089 1234567
0221 1234567
05272 1234567

all different cities with different length of city pre-digits.

Nice! Works with 0 / 00 49 / +49

As I do not know foreign city numbers by heart everyone please test...

And now I see what you mean for American numbers

00 1 999-999-99999

which is in my experiences the common way to write numbers.

I like that feature (if it is reliably implemented for all number variations).

But you are right (configuration is the option)!

And I ask myself how Jolla can spend time on such nice-to-have instead of fixing HW adaption bugs, SIP, browser.............

Works reliably here also. @peterleinchen The phone app was rewritten by one of Jolla's partners, in other words Jolla did not do the development (Just the code review), so no time spent/wasted.

I don't mind it, since they appear to have gotten it correct. Time well spent, perhaps not.
