People app: Not searching in contact notes

The people app does not index the notes field of CardDAV as well as locally created contacts. This makes the new note field support introduced with 3.1.0.12 only half as useful...
Major, major limitation as notes are the only way of putting any kind or groups/tags/keys , and you can't search them.
How do I find the "plasterer" from 2 years ago, whose name I don't remember?
