Another about to quit thread [not a question]
Hey, I guess you got many of these threads, so you may do with it, whatever you want. Maybe a few of my issues do actually have solutions I didn't find.
First of all, I really liked the idea of sailfishos, I also found it interesting to have a non-android phone os. I set up sailfishos on my xperia x and here are my main issues with it:
- Can neither use my default android calendar (etar) nor change the design of the default calendar. (I need an overview of the month in my view. I do not like to click on every day.)
- Not having the option to add a permanent clock somewhere.
- Not being able to remove notifications, everytime I got a notification, I needed to search which it was. It was not clearly visible for me what I got notified about.
- Cannot click on notifications of android apps to go to the app. This is annoying when you use android-messengers like threema
- Android apps do not have easy accessible media control from other places
- Media control on the notification screen would be good. I am using my podcast player while riding the bike, there is not the situation for small play pause buttons.
- not being able to use bluetooth play/pause
- Copy text from emails, without going into edit mode.
These were my major issues. I just thought I leave them here, so they may be of value during future development. If all of these are non-issue, I'd also be interested in solutions.
Chers,
Launching mpris-proxy will enable the use of Bluetooth play-pause. See this app which will allow you to do so.
Giacomo Di Giacomo ( 2019-12-05 12:22:43 +0200 )editI solve the "month view" issue by enabling the Agenda view (needs a patch), which is implemented, but for whatever reason not enabled by default. See here for more information. I do choose a longer period than mentioned in that article, though. Also, I do not use the "Current day fix" mentioned, as I actually want the agenda to start at the selected day. This is not a full replacement for an actual month view, but it works for me.
dyraig ( 2019-12-05 12:53:55 +0200 )editTo remove notifications you just have to press and hold on them, then the removing icons will appear and in the top menu there will be an option to clear all notifications at once - just tap, hold and then slide down. Or do you need some other kind of way to remove them?
werdinand ( 2019-12-05 13:40:09 +0200 )edit@werdinand thanks, that is much better. That should go to the tutorial.
sailor_tholi ( 2019-12-05 13:43:07 +0200 )editThis thread once more shows that not the OS per se is the problem, but the lack of ongoing development for its native apps.
Jolla, your native apps are years old and often outdated in functionality. Please invest some time upgrading them. You are a software company!
